Last night there was a Katydid outside my dining room window. He (she?) was still there when I got up this morning. ...And I'm on call, which is good since I really didn't get ANY sleep last night.

It's All a Hot Mess!

So, I bought some curtains & rods late last night. Let me tell you 11:30pm, Friday night at Wal-Mart. I'd forgotten that's like the "happening" place to be if you're a college-age kid (too young for bars) in a small town. Holy Moley. So, the rods don't fit, and I'm not sure about the curtains now either. Groan.

Now as for the damn bathroom. *insert massive eyeroll here* Here's what it looks like after the mirror was removed and the dumb peel-n-sticks were peeled & un-stuck. What was gonna be a quick late-night paint job has turned into a nice major project. Going tomorrow to buy spackle & other supplies. Ugh. If that were my project, I'd be EMBARRASSED to say I did it!! Seriously!

I bought a riding lawnmower today! Yay! To be delivered tomorrow evening. Yes, it's a KEY start, not a ripcord, so I think I'll be good. I'll keep ya posted.

Dingleberry Tile

If you haven't met Dingleberry Tile, let me introduce you! Then you can say farewell, because soon Dingleberry Tille will be no more! Let me explain. At some point, some BrightStar (previous owner.. nobody I know!) got the idea to put peel-n-stick vinyl tile on a weird corner of my ceramic tile wall. The same 12x12" leftovers from the peel-n-stick dumb floor they put in. This one particular tile has been pulling away from the wall for months but won't come off because it's stuck by a screw that holds the mirror in place.

The bathroom is gonna get a little face-lift, and let me assure you, peel-n-stick walls are NOT part of the plan. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, peel-n-stick floors will remain!

Grey Haze

It's bright out
and the thermometer is
in the 90's.

But there's a grey haze
over everything - both
indoors & out.

And the spiders don't know
their boundaries.

A gem hides amidst a
sea of rocks, convincing
herself she's special, but
feeling like a useless pebble.

Today I am Thankful For:

1. Fresh pineapple.
2. Metamucil (& the fact that it works quickly)
3. Recognizing unhappiness before it becomes bad.
4. My "decluttering" on eBay.
5. I've kept my ferns alive for over a month already.
6. Sleeping Late.
7. YouTube vloggers.
8. Clean Linen Glass Scents by Glade
9. RidDamp- keeps my bathroom dry & un-mildewy
10. Autumn is just around the corner!

Sometimes it takes a little more work to do my thankful list. Today was one of those days. I thought it was important to still do a full 10things - because it's imperative to look for the good, even when it is hard to see. When I look back on these, they generally make me happy... or at least make me smile. I'm considering these like deposits in my "bank o' happiness"?

Bad Chi!!

I've got some really weird chi going on in my house, and things are getting more bizarre every day.

Today I found a few drops of blood on my white tile walls in my bathroom. I honestly don't remember cutting myself - and I'm pretty sure I'd remember. Plus, I'm sure I would've noticed it if it had been there a while... I mean really - blood on a white tile wall?!? It was right below the light switch, too - an area that definitely gets seen a lot.

I don't konw. You can call me crazy, but something's up, and there's a negative energy in my home. I picked up & straightened in my office, and it felt a lot better in there. ...Now I need to work on the house as a whole. Life is stressful enough... I need a comfortable haven with positive chi where I can relax.

injury update

I'm laying in bed as I write this. On my back.. ick. I'm totally a left-side sleeper, and I haven't been able to get good sleep for the past 5 days since I slipped & fell off the ladder. Still can't comfortably lay on my L side. I've got bruises on my forearm, shoulder, ribs, knee, and shins, but the granddaddy of them all is my damn left hip/thigh/ass.

I'm not one for gratuitous butt shots, but geez. I thought I'd share a little thumbnail to give you an idea what I'm talking about! It is teh evil!

* I don't feel bad staying home when I found out only 11 patients on the floor. They'd be calling someone off, anyway. Now, I'm sure it's me! Ha! (ps. rationalization there, in case you failed to notice.)

Spider, Windows, Ladder, Bruise. And Random Sputtering!

Ok, well it's been entirely too long since my last random babble, & there's just been so much going on! So - preface this by saying it'll be random sputterings!

* It's a boy! Yay! I hadn't mentioned it before because she wanted to keep it under wraps, but yes, I'm gonna be an Auntie - due in Feb. Officially today found out it's a boy. I'm so flippin' excited! Bean, I can't wait to see you!!

* I fell off a ladder today (yesterday, technically now) & I'm all purple. My left thigh/ hip & knee. I feel my left wrist & right shoulder hurting, but don't see marks there, too.

So, between not feeling so hot, & just plaing being tired - I called out. I'd be useless @ work, and I'm not willing to risk someone's life for it.
Ok, so back to the windows - I get up the other morning to see this big ginormous spider smack dab in the center of my dining room window. (Outside, thank GOD)

So I whip out the bug spray, and spray all over the outside of my house. Hmm - made a mess. Bug spray coated the windows, & tehy all got filthy. So today, I got all prepared - got vinegar & newspaper, and set to wash them. I stopped after I fell. I knew the whole time it was dumb to be doing that. ...I try never to do things that are potentially dangerous or lethal to a klutz like me when unsupervised! Ahh.. what a dork. So, that's the spider, windows, ladder, bruise story.

Thankfully, no more weird rash requests lately. I was really worrying about that!

* I single-handedly saved a woman from losing her leg the other day. I'll hold off on details for now (small town, ya know!) - but suffice it to say my creative thinking and willingness to question/ challenge a doctor has paid off once again! Thankfully he was receptive, too - I hate making enemies with the surgeons!

* I'm probably due for my pap. I don't want one. Waldo is fine, Audrey 2 remains gone, and I'm clean, so why go? (groan) I know, please no comments from the peanut gallery on that one. It's just I think I see my gynecologist often enough, dammit! (If you've ever met him, you'd understand!)

* I'm wearing my monkey-head robe. I find this quite comforting.

* I baked cookies today. Go me. I only ate 2, but I'm seriously considering eating a 3rd. Ooooh.... mmmm.

* Cleaned my hardwoods today, too. Gosh, I'm a good kid! *giggle* Yes, I still call myself a kid. And if only I put away my laundry. *pout* Dear reader, I'll give you a dollar to hang up my clothes for me!?
