YOU Made That?
Inevitably, whenever I make something, there's always somebody that pipes up in shock that I made it. I don't care what it is - a painting, cookies, or some other culinary creation. It could be flattering if someone said, "You MADE that?" but it's usually more like, "YOU made that?!" Seriously fucking irritating. Yes, I'm a girl with a foul-ass mouth, who drinks beer and drops f-bombs, and yes, I can cook, and I can bake. I even painted that giant canvas on the wall you're eyeing. Your prejudice is showing... might want to tuck that back in.

Working on it?
Pedicure lady: Happy Mother's Day.
Me: I'm not a mother, but thank you.
Her: You're NOT!? Are you working on it?
What. The. Fuck?

Twenty-Dozen
Wow, everyone seemed pretty glad to get 2011 out of the way. Was it that bad of a year for everyone? In review, my year was not bad at all - but neither was it anything wonderful. After several years of being on the go, traveling, and experiencing new things, I feel like I've just settled into suburban blah. Dr. M told me a few months ago that this town might just be too small for me, and he might be right. .... I require adventure in my life. I adore the crew I work with right now, but every day, I wake up and think how much fun I had living in the bigger cities. Sometimes I think my house is a big albatross holding me back. Other times, I'm so thankful to be so close to my family.
I've been insanely tired for the last few months -- Mostly, I figured I just wasn't sleeping well, (night shift & all) but sometimes I'd get a full nights sleep, and still wake up just lethargic as hell. No depression, but felt like I've been in a fog. Thought I might be getting more & more anemic -- (Couldn't donate blood again last time I tried to, because my HgB was too low.) Turns out I have a severe vitamin D deficiency. Totally explains the lethargy. Now I'm taking like a million times the recommended daily dosage weekly for the next 12 weeks. (*and by a million times, I really mean 50,000 IU's) Today I took my second dose, and I hope I start feeling some improvement soon. I'm tired of being tired, and really feeling weak. Plus, my hair is thinning... I've got plenty to spare, so that doesn't bother me, but it really is a disconcerting feeling seeing a huge clump each time I get out of the shower...
I'm sure I have lots more to say but I'm thinking nap, then maybe a little house cleaning, if I wake up at a halfway decent hour. (How am I going to get this place clean!?) Me: My house is gonna be messy. I'm counting on you not to judge me. Jess: The artsy type never has a clean house, its cool. (Love this girl!!)

It's Never OK
So, I just read an article about a law passed in Michigan state to prevent bullying, yet turning their back to bullying when done under certain circumstances. This is the shit that we come up with to "protect" our children? We elect these people and pay them to represent us? It sickens me. Truly.
The GOP pushed through an amended bill, SB 137, which does nothing advocates have pushed for — including reporting requirements and enumeration, or listing, of protected classes. In addition, the legislation provides an exception which allows bullying based on “moral convictions.”
The full language of the insert is: “This section does not prohibit a statement of a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction of a school employee, school volunteer, pupil, or a pupil and parent or guardian.” (Read article here)
I'm not sure I understand how adults can deem a religious exception to tormenting other children. Bullying is never ok. I guess this was decided as acceptable by the same people that start holy wars and the like.

Sounds + Stupid.
Sounds I love:
Trains
Rain
Birds
Thunder
Gentle snoring.
ps. not fired. Not even in trouble. Message was twisted BIG TIME by the time it got to me. Long story. Slightly inebriated, & don't feel like getting into it.
