It Was a Dark & Stormy Night

Maybe I set myself up for a fright.
Driving home, I told myself,
"this is like horror-movie weather."
- Super heavy rains.
Abundant lightning that
made it look like daylight.

Maybe it was nerves when I
hydroplaned in the flooded roads.

Or maybe it was the ginormous bugs
nose-diving at full speed into my
flimsy glass window.

I don't know what set it off, but
by the time the power started flickering,
I was pretty freaking creeped out.
